Big fan. Biiiiig fan.
I started dry brushing a few years ago and to be honest was (pleasantly) surprised by the results. I noticed a massive difference in the quality of my skin (and now know why).
Our skin is not only our largest organ, it is also one of our major detoxification systems. This is why symptoms of deeper issues often present themselves as acne, rash, eczema, etc.
Obviously we always want to get to the root cause - sluggish liver, gut issues, hormonal imbalances - but dry brushing can be a great supporting practice.
Benefits of Dry Brushing:
Ok, let's slow our roll for a second since the lymphatic system gets thrown around willy nilly sometimes, and I want to explain why this guy is so cool.
What is the Lymphatic System?
Essentially, our lymphatic system is a network of tissues and organs that help transport metabolic waste out of our body. It also "pushes" nutrients and fluids into tissues to ensure they get what they need. This can only happen via movement or muscular contraction - which is why exercise is so crucial for optimal detoxification.
Because many of our lymph vessels run just below our skin's surface, brushing can improve the way our lymph glands perform.
Here's How To Do It:
