I've got a contrarian streak that rears its head from time to time.
When I scroll past all of the do's and don'ts for navigating the holidays...part of me wants to yell "stop telling me what to do!"
If I feel that way, I imagine some of you are a little fed up with streams of advice.
So, if you're here for some helpful suggestions, I got you. But if you're just here for the memes and distraction, scroll on by, my friend! I get it ;)

WHAT IF THE HOLIDAYS COULD MEAN...
⠀
STEP 1. The Meal Doesn't Matter
One gargantuan meal amidst a ton balanced meals is no biggie (it's the meal the day before, the follow-up, the next couple days that can get us into trouble lol). If you're regularly consistent in your nutrition game, you can release yourself from the stress of this being a major sabotage and enjoy it.
⠀
STEP 2. Eat Breakfast
If you go into a bonanza with a starving tum tum, you'll likely be so hungry you eat more than you even enjoy (and if you're going to eat something, why wouldn't you ENJOY IT?!). Try prioritizing protein and veggies in the meals beforehand, so you'll really be able to savor the foods you love.
⠀
STEP 3. Move Anyhowww
"Researchers studying older adults with pre-diabetes found that 15 minutes of easy-to-moderate exercise after every meal curbed risky blood sugar spikes all day." Grab your cool cousin or energetic aunt and go for a quick stroll. You'll digest your food better, give your blood sugar an assist and get a really helpful mental boost.
⠀
STEP 4. It's Gonna Be OK
If you ignore all of the advice you see floating around the interwebz, it's gonna be ok. There's no one waiting to punish or admonish you, cuz you is a grown-up .
⠀
I hope you have a WONDERFUL holiday season and grant yourself permission to show up exactly as you are!
Let's return to health, together.
