Strength Training TIPS

If you are a human with a beating heart you need strength training.

This isn't bias or preference (though yes, I have both).

I'm just assuming you care at least a bit about fat loss, bone health, being able to move when you're old af, staving off dementia, sleeping better, preventing diabetes/heart disease/osteoporosis/depression and reduction of chronic pain.

F45 / Barry's / OT / whatever trendy fad is ABSOLUTELY better than nothing.

But if you really want some rad results plus a massive payoff, here are some tips on incorporating strength training into your life:

1️⃣LEARN THE COMPOUND (aka multi-joint) MOVEMENTS & BASIC MOVEMENT PATTERNS

????????Squat, deadlift, single leg, upper body pressing, upper body pulling, core control

✅Not only do these movements have the greatest transferability to life, they also require the greatest energy expenditure from your body & brain.

2️⃣PROGRESS MOVEMENTS FROM WEEK-TO-WEEK (& avoid random programming at all costs)

????Pour one out for the days when doing random sh*t gave me results because I was a noob & doing literally anything was progress. You CAN keep doing fun, random stuff and eventually be a little bit better at doing random stuff and see some results.

OR...

????????You can laser in on increasing weight, reps or sets every week with an intentional rest/deload every 4-5 weeks and see your progress, body composition and results SKYROCKET.

3️⃣EMBRACE THE ANTI-FRAGILE MINDSET

✅Going into a new program or process with the fear of getting injured or hurting yourself is setting yourself up for injury. You gon be fine, kemosabe.

????That's not an excuse to roll up with that fresh outta college "used to be an athlete, this is what I was able to lift then, no chick gonna tell me I can't put the big boy reds on" mentality (ahh memories).

????????Be responsible, smart, and TAKE YOUR TIME. The payoff is massive in more ways than you can imagine right now.

There's a lot of nonsense going around. Give these people a follow if you want facts and education:
