How to TAKE CONTROL

of Your Thoughts

“I can’t lose weight.”
“That’s too hard.”
“I’ll do anything to get healthy - except X.”
“I hate vegetables.”
“I don’t have time.”
“I’m an extreme person.”

Right now, your life is perfectly designed to get you the exact results you’re getting.

Let that sink in for a second.

So that the next time you say you want to lose weight or feel better - but then skip a meal or stay up watching tv - remember you may THINK you want that goal, but your actions say something very different.

Cognitive Dissonance = “The state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes, especially as relating to behavioral decisions and attitude change."

We ALL suffer from cognitive dissonance from time to time. It’s a product of a culture that demands more from us in every area, to be well-read, fit, a rockstar employee, a dependable friend, super mom or dad.

It’s why the VERY FIRST step a good coach will take is help you determine what is MOST important to you right now and why. It helps us outline precisely what actions will get you the results you desire and FREE UP wasted energy.

BREAK FREE FROM COGNITIVE DISSONANCE✂️

STEP 1️⃣1 : CHANGE YOUR LANGUAGE

  • Turn “I can’t” into “I don’t want to at this point.”
  • Turn “That’s too hard” ????????into “I’m not willing to commit currently.”
  • Turn “I’m an extreme person” ????????into “I tend to overcommit and struggle sticking with anything.”
  • Turn “I don’t have time” into ????????“This isn’t important right now.”

STEP 2 2️⃣: DO LESS, BETTER

Yo, you’re trying to master too many things and drowning in the process. Pick 1-2 daily actions. Crush the heck out of them every day (ex. balanced afternoon meal, big glass of water in AM, 10 minute walk). Earn more by following through.

STEP 3️⃣3: STARVE THE NOISE

That voice in your head is going to say “you’re not doing enough” or “you should be doing x.” Put a name to that voice if you like and tell Angelica to STFU (anyone else find that to be a bitchy name? Sorry if it’s yours). Unfollow accounts that make you feel like garbage, excuse yourself from conversations that involve comments like “ugh I feel fat.”

Now nut up and go after what you want or let it go and free that mental real estate up for the good stuff like your loved ones and chilling da heck out.
